Nov 9th Update...Nice Weather Today And A Solid Bite On The Headboats...

Despite the cold weather, the guys that got off the dock today did very well with Tog, Cod and Seabass. I heard solid reports all the way around from the headboats to a few guys in the private boat fleet who I communicate with on a regular basis. Because I primarily fish for Cod, I have no interest in Tog reports, however, it is nice to see the guys who love Tog crushing them just a few miles from the point. It's all about anchoring on the right rock pile on the right tide...just not my thing. I would rather motor jig on open bottom south of BI or Coxes for the "Winter King"...it's what I do best and I really enjoy being out there when the weather and tide are right. So what about Codfishing this winter? I now have a GREAT marine quality battery charging system on board in conjunction with two new 8D Glass Mat batteries. More than enough power to turn those engines over and now I just need to ensure our new injection pump is working correctly on that port engine. We haven't been out since early September due to the weather and a very busy work schedule on my behalf, however, if I can get the galley, cabin and engine room straight I will put something on the calendar as soon as I see a weather window. I just need one complete day to get things "trip ready"...and you guys know what I mean. The boat has to be clean, neat and ready to roll with gear set and everything in order for me to throw the lines, I won't do it any other way. I am hoping to get down there this week to set the winter bilge heaters with Bob and come up with a game plan. Stand by for more updates soon...
