Almost Ready...

We are "this close" to throwing the lines. One more gallon of Durabak paint for the deck, some minor troubleshooting of that port engine and we should be good to go. Replaced two 8D batteries this week ($800) and relocated the inverter. I have stocked up on sinkers, teasers, jigs, rigs and added a few more of my hand picked 7.5' Tsunami Rods / Daiwa High Speed Saltist reel combo's that everyone loves for Cod. It truly is the best Cod combo for such short money. I have clients that bring very expensive custom rods and reels aboard....then I spoil it for them and put my special Cod combo in their hands to try for a few drifts...and they never go back to that expensive set-up for the rest of the day. It took me several years and months and months of trials to find this combo. I literally had an old brown Fenwick blank in my garage (never got the number, but it was my favorite Cod rod since the 70's and I wanted something that bent and shut-off like it). After testing many, many blanks I finally found a 7.5' rod that matched my old Fenwick...exactly!!! I retired the Fenwick and now this is the only set-up you will find on Codzilla. It's tough, cheap and will slay Cod better than anything I have ever used. For exact specs inbox me or book a charter to try it firsthand.

Ok...so I am hoping to throw the lines for our first trip on Saturday, June 1st. Shakedown trip will be Friday, May 31st...I might take a couple of guys for that one as well. Plan to fish Block Island area's for Cod, Sea Bass and Fluke. The head boats did well this weekend with Fluke so we know they are around for sure. No word on Cod because nobody is fishing for them...but we will certainly be. Call, text or email me if you want a spot at the rail. $150pp...throw lines at 6 AM and return to port around 4:30 - 5 PM. All bait and tackle included, Bob's famous breakfast sandwiches & hot coffee, lots of laugh and hopefully a full cooler of fish. Your catch will be professionally cleaned and bagged. Let's hope we can pull this together including the weatherman....more updates at the end of the week.
