Weekend Update....

If this forecast holds, this may be one of the nicest weekends to fish all winter. Here is the WPRI & NWS marine update as of 4:30 PM Jan 11th:

SATURDAY: Partly sunny, much colder, and dry during the day… highs in the low 30s.

SUNDAY: Partly sunny. Highs in the mid to upper 30s.

MONDAY (Martin Luther King, Jr Day): Not as chilly. A mix of sun and clouds. Looks dry. Highs in the low 40s.

The NWS updated marine forecast is a match:

FRI NIGHT N WINDS 15 TO 20 KT WITH GUSTS UP TO 30 KT... DIMINISHING TO 10 TO 15 KT WITH GUSTS UP TO 20 KT AFTER MIDNIGHT. SEAS 3 TO 5 FT.

SAT N WINDS 5 TO 10 KT...BECOMING NW IN THE AFTERNOON. SEAS AROUND 2 FT.

SAT NIGHT W WINDS 5 TO 10 KT. SEAS 1 FOOT OR LESS. SUN NW WINDS 5 TO 10 KT. SEAS 1 FOOT OR LESS.

SUN NIGHT NE WINDS 5 TO 10 KT. SEAS 1 FOOT OR LESS.

MON SE WINDS 5 TO 10 KT. SEAS 1 FOOT OR LESS.

Aside from being a bit cold, the odds of getting a forecast like this across an entire long weekend is almost unheard of at this time of year. No doubt, "IF" it holds the whole fleet from NY, CT & RI will be out there in full force. So here are my thoughts...I would like to run all three days if I can get enough bait and interest. Fresh shell bait right now is scarce and very pricey, but we have to have it in order to run a proper trip. Need three bushels minimum for each outing and I should know from my suppliers by late Thurs / early Friday what the story is. So if all the stars align, lets put a headcount together for the upcoming weekend...need at least (5) anglers per trip at $150pp, leave the dock at 6 AM and back no later than 4 PM...

Saturday Jan 14th - (4) Spots Open / (1) Sold

Sunday Jan 15th - Private Charter

Monday Jan 16th - (3) Spots Open / (2) Sold

Also...keep in mind that we will be fishing on big time tides as the full moon will occur tomorrow night. I do have quite a few 20 oz bank sinkers on board but we might need more so bring some extra lead if you have it. So that's the plan....call, txt or email me if your interested in jumping aboard and I will post another update again tomorrow to see where we stand....

The above pics (BI Winter Cod Parking Lot) are courtesy of my good friend "EC" Steve who runs one of my favorite bottom fishing sites on the web www.fishingunited.com If you like Codfishing, please check it out and read some of EC's postings...a wealth of knowledge without question and endless learning. More coming, standby...
