We should have been fishing this past weekend but I did not have ample time to set the boat up for a trip the way I like to do it so I sat this one out. Looking forward to this Saturday, 9/28...we have new moon tides and a change at the right time early in the day. Essentially, we will have a strong ebb tide to work with all day and I like that. Prefer a flood, but sometimes a strong ebb tide on a new moon can work in our favor. I am going to watch the weather and if we c
We all know what today is and it's a tough day for true patriots who love our country. It's appalling to me how quickly American citizens forgot what happened on this day back in 2001....people jumping off the WTC rather than be burned alive. RADICAL ISLAMIC TERRORIST altered everything on that day in America and changed our way of life forever. What really bothers me is the election of RADICAL MUSLIMS in our congress who say outrageous things like "some people did somethi
I am hoping to throw the lines again this upcoming weekend if we can get a few days for the water to clear. Full moon tides means the bite will more than likely be on. I am planning the same game plan we used last Sunday unless I get convincing intel pointing me in another direction. I think the fish will be exactly where we left them, on the chew and we will have additional action from some real big Seabass that are now filtering in off the beach like they do every year.
Yesterday's trip was a good one and "long overdue" according to my good friend Dave Walden who fishes with us on a regular basis. Yes, it certainly was overdue and we finally cashed in on a great Cod bite. Despite a strong NE breeze in the AM, the wind eventually eased enough to fish in "relative" comfort but the boat was pitching and rolling beam too all day so everyone went home a bit sore. Up in the wheelhouse I felt like I was on a bucking mechanical bull for 12 hours.
