Labor Day Weekend...Forecast Looks Great, Let's Fish!!!!
This is it guys...Labor Day weekend. We have a GREAT storm free weather window with NEW MOON tides...couldn't ask for better!!! I have a feeling this is going to be what we have waited for all summer...I am very confident this will be the weekend we finally get into some real good, old school summertime Codfishing. I have full tanks of diesel, two new 8D monster batteries, a new marinized battery charging station professionally installed, fresh shell bait and a whole arsen

Going To Try For This Friday And Sunday (Or Monday)....
This time of the year things start to get real tricky with the weather and you almost need to be a weatherman to interpret all the latest models as the date to fish approaches. The key factors I watch are wind direction, speed, any approaching cold fronts, predicted wave heights & period...and tidal state. All of these factors play a key role and are all important...but to me wind direction and speed will usually make or break a trip. So last week when NOAA and others chan
Hoping For A Midweek Trip...Private Charter This Saturday
Despite my best efforts to get a trip for Sunday, it was not meant to be. Can't run a trip with one fare...doesn't even cover the fuel cost. Despite a little fog, yesterday would have been a good day out on the water. Might try to see if we can get a trip in midweek or perhaps Friday? If anyone can do either Wednesday or Friday let me know. If I can get at least four for either day, we can throw the lines. Private charter this Saturday so that would only leave Sunday, a

Next Trip This Sunday, Aug 18th....
I was hoping to run a trip today but my private party cancelled out....too much of this going on this year and I will soon be running things like all the other boats do with a deposit and all that BS...didn't want to go down this road but now I know why the other boats do. So I am hoping to run an offshore trip to Coxes this Sunday, but I will need a minimum of five to make the run. I want to leave early and come back late...fish hard and put a few slobs in the boat. It's t

We Are Ready For Any Trips Thursday - Sunday...Just Need Five To Throw Lines...
Our electrical gremlins are resolved. My good friend Tim Stack from Volt Techs came down yesterday afternoon and resolved our battery draining issue and also proceeded to replace both 8D batteries with two brand new 8D batteries which should be good for at least three years. Topped off with diesel and I am planning to set all the gear tomorrow. Full moon tides Thursday through Sunday and I have high expectations that we will get into some good fishing. I am long overdue f
Not Enough Interest For Today's Trip...Going To Try For Next Weekend
Hard to believe we didn't have enough interest for today's trip...perfect weather and calm sea's, can't ask for better than that in August. I will try again next weekend and if we can get at least four, we throw the lines. I know the Frances got out today and had a pretty good trip in terms of size and numbers...so let's see if we can get enough guys for next weekend. More midweek.... Capt.
3 Spots Sold, 3 Open For This Sunday....
As of this afternoon I have 3 spots sold so as of right now we have room for 3 more. The weather looks SPECTACULAR and the tides look decent so we will give it another try. Have not decided where I am going to fish yet, look at last week...all that running around for very mediocre results. I will have to dig back into my logbook for what we did on leaner seasons I suppose...I know for sure after speaking to some very good sources today that the Cod that usually come off Na

This Sunday Aug 11th Will Be Our Next Trip...
I am putting last Sunday's Hitchcock trip behind me hoping for better results this coming weekend. I couldn't have done more last Sunday to put fish in the boat...probably steamed over 100 NM on that trip for such measly results. And on paper that should have been a slammer with the tides we had...I am usually spot-on with the technical stuff because I am an engineer by trade / degree...and always believe nothing happens by accident...there is a formula for success, weather

Twilight Zone Trip Today...August 4th, 2019...
Today was one for the books in terms of weird, in fact, I can't remember another trip I could even compare to this in 30 years. To start the day we were treated to a couple of brand new 8D batteries that were dead as dead could be....wouldn't even click the solenoid! Last night they were firing over each engine with ease...so we put the new charger on that problem and left a half hour late...which is ok...just add the time to the backside of the trip....but weird. First dr

The New Injection Pump Is In, Let's Fish On Sunday....
Bob got the pump in this afternoon and we will give it a good test tomorrow, irregardless we are fishing on Sunday. The weather forecast looks great other than a few passing showers in the AM then its supposed to clear out real nice for the rest of the day. The tides look great and I am anxious to really put together a good trip for you guys. We are topped off with diesel and tomorrow I will bring down 2 bushels of clams along with plenty of ice. Don't let the weatherman
