Sunday Sept 30th, Weather Looks GREAT!
At this time of year it gets harder and harder to get off the dock due to the change in seasons and endless Easterly winds. This will not be the case for this Sunday, it looks exceptional as of this posting (of course that can change) and I want to go kill some Cod and Sea Bass. Need a minimum of 4 anglers...all bait, tackle and ice provided. Bob will also serve-up some great breakfast sandwiches and fresh coffee. $150pp plus 20% gratuity for Bob who will tend to your eve

No Trips Until Next Weekend....
I probably could have run a trip tomorrow but had no time to prep this week, study tides and put it together the right way like I usually do. However, according to my logbooks all the juvenile Scup and Sea Bass should start filtering in off the beach to invade the grounds SE of Block on their journey to deeper water. So what does that mean? It means you won't get a jig or bait past them to lure in a Cod. Usually this phenomenon starts in mid to late October, but this year
Not Enough Interest For Tomorrow...
Was hoping to sneak in a trip tomorrow but we just couldn't get enough interest. Im sure the water might be a bit dirty but its better than sitting tied to the dock. So we shall see what we can do after the remnants of Hurricane Flo passes on Tuesday. Hopefully we will be in the clear for a while so we can get in a few trips. More midweek... Capt. PS...so how accurate was my storm prediction in my previous few post? Loss of life stands at 11 right now...wish I was wrong

Hurricane Flo And The Update...
Hurricane Florence will slam into the Carolina's with intense ferocity unlike anything they have seen in years. Although downgraded to a category 3 status, its the actual speed of the storm (a very slow 16 mph) that may bring the most damage. With a 13+ foot storm surge and rain being measured in "feet" not "inches"...flooding will be immense and lengthy. Its not just going to hit and move away within a couple hours...its going to be around for 24 - 48 hours. Even the bes

Thumbs Down For This Weekend...And A Hurricane On The Way
Well its that time of year again, unfortunately. We have been spoiled the past few hurricane seasons but I have a bad feeling about this one. The water has been the warmest I have ever seen it and the tropics are already churning out storms like a machine. Hurricane Florence is going to strengthen over the course of the next few days and everything is going to hinge on a high pressure system that will build-in to the north of the storm. If the high pressure remains strong
Watching For The Weekend....
As of right now, the weekend looks shaky at best. If I had to pick between the two, I would say Saturday is a maybe, Sunday not so much unless we have a drastic change in wind speed and direction...not going to make up my mind until tomorrow. If we can only get out on Saturday, it will be a "mystery meat" trip to an area I have never fished. While our usual grounds are being overrun with Seabass, I think its worth trying something different. I did receive some intel and a
Sea Bass Slaughter, Just A Handful Of Brown Bombers...
For anyone who thinks we need to better regulate Sea Bass with ridiculous 3 and 7 fish bag limits, you obviously have no real clue just how many of these fish are out on the grounds. We steamed all over the place yesterday and fished every depth from 90' to 185'....could not escape the Sea Bass after limiting out in less than an hour. Jigs or bait, it didn't matter, they were on it before the Cod even had a chance. Fortunately, we did get 1/2 dozen nice ones to make the tr
2 Spots Open Still For Monday....
