Thumbs Down For Tomorrow...
The ominous picture above says it all. At the BI buoy sea's are cresting at 12' as of this posting...needless to say tomorrow's trip is not going to happen. Right behind this blow is another one on its way to ruin the end of the week and weekend...welcome to winter I suppose. Almost textbook of last year...made it up to Christmas them we got slammed. This year may yield even more wind due to the relatively warm water temps (still in the 50's heading into January!!!). Win

Yesterday' Trip Report
Had a decent trip on Tuesday, not over the top, but decent. Odog Fishing Club members Mike (NY), Mark (MA), Andy (CT), Capt. Carl (NY) and my buddy Ron (CT) all boxed a few nice fish and at the end of the day, Fishcounter Bob tallied 38 Cod and a few other cellar dwellers. Despite marking like hell at just about every drop surveyed, the bite was on in only one small zone. When it died out around noon I went exploring and had more fish under the boat than I have seen in many

Tuesday's Trip Sold Out....
Tuesday's trip sold out before I even formally announced we were having a trip...lets hope the forecast holds up for Ron, Andy, and Mikes gang (Odog Fishing). As of right now its looking real nice but we all know how fast that can change at this time of year. Went down to check the boat this afternoon and down by the beach it was "wicked"...huge ground swell with chop and all the nuts were out there surfing. Sighted only one dragger working the pier and they were bouncing
Wed Trip...Not Happening
The NWS update at 3:46 PM has winds gusting up to 20-25 kts 3-5' seas and I'm sure that will go up overnight. Looks like a classic case of no SCA's tonight and then "surprise" when you click on the report tomorrow morning. No thanks...looks like we are going to get blown out for the upcoming weekend as well. Tough time of year to fish and its best to be patient and wait for a day like we had on Sunday.... Capt

Sunday's Trip Report & The Update...
An interesting day for sure....started out where I left off on Monday - a new drop with big hopes, crushed them there on Monday....but not today. Zero, zilch, nada in the early AM....frustrating way to start a trip. So off we go...hit every spot on the SE corner of BI and even spent some time in the "Fleet" south of Block. Nothing on the first drop so off to another well known spot...and even before I could pull the sticks back my worst nightmare....a huge partially submer

Sunday's Trip & The Update...
My apologies for not getting this up yesterday, been very busy in the shop and have a lot going-on with the holidays right around the corner...like we all do. Sunday's trip is sold out but I am watching and hoping to get another trip in midweek (Wednesday?) if mother nature allows. Water temps are falling slowly, but falling no less which is good and the Cod are starting to show in better numbers. The boats that got out there this past Wednesday clobbered fish all over the

Monday's Trip & The Update...
There was a big difference between the forecast on Sunday and actual weather we had on Monday morning...needless to say, I had to alter my game plan a bit and landed up poking around in the shallows to see if we could put a catch together. First three drops were a bust but after the tide change at noon it was game-on. Had some nice fish coming over the rail spitting up Herring, but very few fish were taken on jigs...it almost didn't make sense, but these fish wanted fresh sh
Moving Sun Trip To Monday....
Fish Counter Bob and I got the boat ready to go today but with the big winds extending into tomorrow, we decided to move the trip to Monday...supposed to be flat calm with light winds - perfect for drifting. We have fresh shell bait and more food than anyone could imagine. Its going to be a feast. 3 spots open...call, txt or email if you want to join us...

2 Spots Open For Sunday, Dec 4th...The Raft Was Delivered Today...
Fishcounter Bob is on his way from New Haven and we are going to attempt a trip on Sunday if the forecast holds. Its going to blow like hell tonight through Saturday so we will have to see. NWS just extended the SCA's through Saturday night so I am going to watch things closely. Right now, it looks like it might be a little bumpy in the AM but then its supposed to drop out by noon...we'll have to see. Water temps have dropped slightly (55.9 at BI Bouy) and I am starting to h
