The Update and More Commentary Regarding The Sinking of "Chicken Pox"...
Nathan Carman made big time news today after he was picked-up by a tanker ship 100 nm south of the vineyard last Sunday. I just watched his one on one interview with ABC news an hour ago and this guy definitely has to be investigated. http://abcnews.go.com/US/wireStory/man-rescued-week-sea-reunited-family-42383202 As I suspected and wrote about prior to him being found, the boat sank rapidly from "flooding". He stated he never knew anything was wrong until the engine started
Trip Updates & Some Lousy Weather...
Well it looks pretty bad the entire week extending into the weekend unfortunately. A big low pressure center developing over the Ohio River Valley is going to slowly meander through the mid Atlantic all week and keep the winds blowing N/NE right through Saturday, Oct 1st. This is not only going to churn up the water, its also going to push a ton of dogfish onto the grounds making for some tough fishing. Its one thing if we get a day or two NE, but when you get it for a who

Update & Commentary About Being Smart & Safe Out On The Water
Not enough interest for a trip tomorrow and its probably a blessing in disguise considering the Scup are so thick out on the grounds you cannot even get a jig past them! So lets keep an eye on the weather and see what we can put together for the middle or end of the week. Hopefully the Scup will have moved on enough so we can at least toss a jig... Last Saturday night a mother & son team departed PT. Judith for some night Bass fishing south of the windmills and simply vanis
Monday, Sept 26th???
Just got a report from a close friend in the fleet...scup city out on the grounds, but....also some nice Cod in the mix. Glad I took a pass this weekend...Mr Russ Benn, Seven B's reported strong tides, rough conditions and not too many fish by the island. My plan right now is to hit the Ledge on Monday "IF" I can get at least four anglers. $150pp if I can only get four...$125pp if I get at least five....throw the lines at 6 AM and will not come in till we have a full cooler

Tomorrow & Sat Trip...
Well...today was the day to be out there (as the pic above shows). I really wanted to do a trip but only had one taker. Not a "puff" of wind and as I set the gear for our next trip I could not believe how beautiful it was standing on deck this afternoon. Tomorrow will also be beautiful in the morning....but probably not in the PM...that cold front is coming down sometime in the afternoon or early evening and I decided to take a pass. Just not worth getting caught 30 miles
Looks Like Fri & Sun This Weekend...
Watching the weather closely...wish I had enough guys to make it out Thursday but I don't....to bad because conditions will be perfect and I would crush the Cod on a day like this like nobody's business. Friday "might" have enough guys...have three as of right now but need four to make a trip...$150pp with four - five. $125pp if I have six - eight. Saturday looks like its going to be pretty rough with a cold front coming down early in the day. If that's the case I will pus
Trip Updates...
Spent yesterday with my friends from Shoreline Diving Services removing 5 miles of braided line from my running gear...love it for fishing but hate it otherwise. Anyways...hoping to sneak in a few Cod trips this week. As of right now, the forecast for Thursday, Sept 22nd looks real good and that trip is wide open - (5) spots available. Saturday, Sept 24th has (2) spots open. Need a minimum of five to sail at the $125pp price point. Trips with less than five can be done on

Good Cod Results Fri & Sat...
Both trips this weekend started out slow but finished strong. On Friday, we had five takers for the trip, all from different parts of NE....Gary (NY), Steve (CT), Dave (CT), Bill (RI) and Mike (MA). This was a first for me and when you put five different guys together on a small deck, it can either be really good or really bad depending on the personalities involved...thank God this group was not only a great bunch of guys, but also some really experienced anglers. Needless

Still Have 2 Spots For Friday....
There are still 2 spots open for Friday...call in sick, push those appointments out a few days and tell the "Mrs." that the "honey to-do list" will have to wait for another day. Its getting to that time of year where trips will start to taper off due to the weather...and you can bet we will have plenty of it very soon. Here's the deal...Friday has two spots and I am going to visit some productive grounds where I last left off prior to the storm.... Saturday is sold out....a
Fri & Sat Trips Updates...
Two spots (even three) just opened up for Friday. Can't do it with just two guys so if you can jump on get a hold of me ASAP. Saturdays trip is sold out. Weather and tides look great.... Capt
